I hope you don't mind me replying to the negative feedback individually here, but I could not resist the need.

Thank you for sharing this set, it's very beautiful.

I have a body type similar to this, and it's all due to genetics. I think she's lovely--I can definitely relate to her awkwardness as someone who's so small. I constantly feel like people judge me due to my weight, or think I look sick or disgusting... and some of the comments on this picture prove my point. Those kinds of comments shouldn't be made; another person's body isn't of anyone's concern but their own. You don't know her story, so you have no place to judge.

Thank you for the lovely picture, seeing such models helps me come to terms with my body. c:

She looks very... skinny.

Unhealthily so, in fact.

Not to be argumentative, but rather educational...

But some people are just very thin.  Metabolisms in humans can range from a hummingbird's pace to nearly nonexistent.  Oftentimes individuals find it exceedingly difficult to overcome a metabolism imbalance.

I understand this person may look unhealthy to you, but don't you think she already struggles with her self-image enough to not also have to constantly bear the label of "sick" or "diseased"?

Just felt compelled to say something for the poor girl.

Well, if you won't argue then I won't argue...

I can't say that I know much about metabolisms, but my basic understanding was that your body got nutrients out of food, processed the food, and then got rid of the leftover product that it had been unable to process. That is pretty much it.

Several friends of mine took ballet when they were younger, and one had severe anorexia that nearly killed her. Whenever I see skinny people I worry about their health -- I'm sorry, but I can't help it. When I said that the girl was unhealthily thin I wasn't attempting to be rude either to her, the artist, or whomever viewed the comments.

I suffered an eating disorder and you don't have to tell me how it feels in such a situation. The problem is that many will take her as an example of ideal of beauty. ( read the comments) Of course, there are people who have a metabolism out of the ordinary, they are thin and can eat whatever they want. But this girl is excessively thin. She look sick and sad and i feel pain for her. She is a really beautiful girl, there is nothing to say and I do not want to discriminate or blame her for nothing, but I think it's reached a point in which anyone should help her instead take picture of her. That's all. I hope it is so.

Nobody can decide whether they need help other than the person themselves, though.  I'm sure you know that...  I can see where you coming from with this, and I don't see anything wrong with trying to help a person who's really in need.  But I think that responsibility should lie with those who know and care for her personally, like a close friend, not with artists and/or critics.  We don't know her like her family or her friends do.  I just don't think we have to right to comment on such personal matters.  It's the piece we should be critiquing, not the model's perceived struggles/shortcomings.

And the way it was done through these photos was very often so...vulgar.  A lot of it turned my stomach, I couldn't help it.  That's the only reason I felt the need to respond in such a way.

I really appreciate the tactful reply.

I was not knocking her, actually I love to photograph thin people and I would work with her in a minute. But I realize you had no way to know that.

There is an artist here in town who is also thin and no matter what he eats to gain weight it simply does not happen.

I apologize.  I more or less spam posted the above to anyone who made a comment about her weight to make my point to the whole audience, some of whom seem to have shown a negative attitude towards the way she looks.

I feel his pain, more or less.  In my case, however, I can gain muscle mass fairly easily by eating extra protein and exercising, but fats virtually evaporate as soon as they hit my stomach.  Still though, it takes so much more time to build muscle mass than to lose it, or even to burn fat for that matter.  It gets pretty rough to bounce back once you find yourself down at or below 120 lbs.

she's obviously confident enough to pose for this picture, though. isn't she?
If she is in fact sick, it is even worse to work with her in this state and reassure her in her self-esteem/sickness.
I work with thin models all the time, but even the really thin ones never look this 'bad' in the pictures.
And that doesn't mean that she's not a pretty girl. It's just unsettling.

Ah, so you propose we forcefully shun her into your standards of physical appearance and health?

I am so incredibly sorry you feel that way.
